Philanthropy Spotlight: Zeta Tau Alpha

Adam Block Design would like to recognize Zeta Tau Alpha at the University of Rhode Island and their dedication to philanthropy.

In March, Zeta Tau Alpha partnered with Theta Chi to host a volleyball tournament. The event benefitted Breast Cancer Education and Awareness and the United Service Organization (USO). After a successful day, they raised $845 for their philanthropies! Congratulations!

The tournament was bracket-style volleyball and involved most of the University’s Greek life. They even had Red Bull sponsor the event! Each team that wanted in on the fun paid $30 to participate, and the winners received gift cards to a local restaurant! Olivia of Zeta Tau Alpha said, “it was a fun night and a great way for our community to come together to raise money for such important causes.”

In addition to hosting the tournament, Olivia says her chapter is actively involved in philanthropy throughout their community. Each year, they volunteer for the Making Strides Walk in Providence, Rhode Island. Though this event they support those who have lost, overcome, or are currently fighting their battle with breast cancer. They also hold an annual 5K run on campus. This event brings together the community to help them raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness. In the past, they’ve even gone to the Patriot’s Pink Game to hand out pink ribbons. Other smaller activities they hold on campus include their Think Pink booth in the quad, Zatertots event, and their Carnation Sales event.

Looks like they’re keeping busy giving back, which is never a bad thing! Keep up the awesome work, Zeta!
